The Newberry Library Cartographic Research and historical treasures entry façade

The Newberry Library

Gold Coast - Near North Side - Chicago IL
Although this institution stays under the radar of many Chicagoans, The Newberry Library houses one of the most important collections of cartographic material anywhere in the world, among many other historic treasures spanning the last six centuries. Open to all and operating as a non-circulating library to compliment the Chicago Public Library system, the beautiful façade depicted here has been overlooking Washington Square Park on Chicago's Near North Side since 1892.
